Prep Students Bring the Spirit of Christmas to the Community
Both on and off the school campus, St. Francis Prep students have been busy this holiday season performing two music concerts, staging "Miracle on 34th Street" and ministering to those in need at the December 11th Annual Christmas Party for Our Friends With Special Needs.

The String Orchestra and the Prep Chorus were invited to perform at the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Immaculate Heart of Mary parish in Fort Hamilton Brooklyn on Sunday December 12th. They performed an hour-long concert indoors to an enthusiastic Parish Community. Afterwards, the Prep Chorus performed "Silent Night” outside, on the front steps during the tree lighting.

Dozens of Prep students visited local nursing homes to bring cheer to the elderly and infirm. On December 15th students visited the residents of Queen of Peace Residence in Middle Village. The chatted with residents distributed Christmas cards and letters from the Prep student community. On the 21st, they will visit Ozanam Hall in Bayside. Meanwhile, hundreds of other students worked behind the scenes to prepare cards and letters which will be delivered to service men and women in the Veterans Home in Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn. These activities are all part of the Franciscan Youth Movement at the Prep coordinated by Bro. James McVeigh.
