We wish to inform you of the passing on Sunday evening of Steven Toscano following a massive coronary he suffered on Saturday. He is the oldest of four sons of Prep benefactors Paulette and Vincent Toscano (SFP Class of 1953). Steven was 49 years of age and he is survived by his wife Lisa and their lovely twin daughters, Mary and Olivia, who are both college freshmen.

Steven served as a Vice President at Paulaur Corporation which was founded by his father Vincent in 1980. Paulaur is known for its specialty carbohydrate products and is also the world's largest manufacturer of "time-release" products for the pharmaceutical industry.

Vincent Toscano was inducted into the Prep's Hall of Fame in 2005 and Paulette Toscano was named an Honorary Alumnus in 2008. They live in Princeton Junction, NJ, and in the fall of 2003 Vincent paid a visit to Brother Leonard Conway at the Prep and said to him at the time, "Brother, God has been very good to me. It's time now to give back." And that was the start of The Paulette and Vincent Toscano Scholarship Fund at St. Francis Prep which currently provides at least four (4) full tuition scholarships for deserving Prep students during any given academic year--at least one freshman, one sophomore, one junior, and one senior.

In addition, over the past several years Paulette and Vincent have given tens of thousands to other Prep students and families in need of financial assistance, and they are also major supporters of the capital campaign to help fund the Prep's modernization efforts.

Please offer a prayer for the repose of the soul of Steven Toscano and keep the entire Toscano family in your thoughts and prayers as well. Steven's wake and funeral are scheduled for Thursday morning in Doylestown, PA. (See details below.) May he rest in peace!

William Connolly says...

"Death is nothing at all....I have only slipped away into the next room. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by my own familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant; it is the same as it ever was. This is, absolutely, unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner, All is well. Nothing is past; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before,--only better, infinitely happier, and forever we will all be one together in Christ." (REV JAMES J. Sullivan) BILL CONNOLLY SFP 1955
