The St. Francis Preparatory School community congratulates faculty member Ms. Elizabeth Cuchinotta and her Accounting and Business classes for having a team finish in First Place in The Stock Market Game (sponsored by the SISMA Foundation for Investor Research). This win is particularly special since this marks only the second year of St. Francis Prep’s participation. In addition to the 1st place team, Prep also had teams finish in 11th and 35th place. Prep had 15 different teams amongst 1,500 high school teams citywide.

The Stock Market Game's carefully integrated curriculum lets students experience the financial markets in the classroom as they learn math, economics, social studies and the importance of saving and investing for the long term. Since its inception 11 million students in elementary, middle and high school have taken part in this real-world learning experience which teaches students to research, buy, sell and trade stocks, bonds and mutual funds at real-time prices.

Joe Sciame, Chairman of the Computer/Business Department at the Prep, praised Ms. Cuccinotta’s Accounting and Business Law students for their dedication, investment discipline and expertise.
