Monday, April 24, 2006
Congratulations to newly elected Hall of Fame members John Brown '76, Managing Director (Head of Global Stock Loans) at Merrill Lynch and one of the Prep's most loyal benefactors; William Dobranski '77, retired NYPD and Founder/Director of Faith in the Future, a grassroots charity whose primary purpose is to help insure that at-risk youth can attend Catholic elementary, high school, and college; and Gerald Scales '76, Managing Director at Citigroup and Past President (and longtime member) of the SFP Alumni Board where his leadership has had a very positive impact on numerous alumni activities.
The formal induction of these new members took place on Saturday evening, April 8th in the Brother Ralph Clifford Auditorium as a prelude to the Annual Alumni Spring Reunion at the Prep that same evening. (The Spring Reunion honors the 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th, 45th, 50th, 55th and 60th Anniversary Classes at the Prep.)
In addition, as part of the Hall of Fame ceremonies, Honorary Alumnus status was conferred upon Dr. Robert Corbino, longtime SFP Music Department Chair; John Finnochio, SFP Fathers' Guild leader for many years; and Midge Stack-Lennon, former teacher, coach, and guidance counselor at the Prep.
Again, congratulations to these fine people for these well-deserved honors. On for Ol' St. Francis!
