On Saturday, November 29th, the auditorium of Our Lady of Hope in Middle Village was filled with an enthusiastic group of supporters of Catholic education--with a fine representation of St. Francis Prep alumni, faculty and staff members.  They were all present for Faith in the Future's 13th Annual "Spaghetti and Eggs" Dinner and Dance.

Co-founded by Bill Dobranski '77 and John Paguaga '78,  Faith in the Future is a non-profit organization that assists young people who, because of special circumstances, could not otherwise afford a Catholic education.

Both Bill and John strongly feel that it was their education at St. Francis Prep that helped shape them and motivate them to help others in need.  Many Prep grads have been great supporters of the organization.  Bill Dobranski noted, "Prep people embody what St. Francis taught--that it is in giving that we receive."

During the program, Faith in the Future honored St. Francis Prep, St. Pancras School and De La Salle School and representatives of each school were presented with checks to help support their work in providing quality, Catholic education to the young people in our area.  In addition, stipend checks were presented to a few seminarians who are currently studying for the priesthood.

"We believe that Catholic edcuation helps give students the moral compass they will need to guide them in a challenging world", said co-founder John Paguaga '78.  He continued,  "We hope that they will more clearly hear the words of Jesus and feel the love of God. In so doing, we become our brother's keeper".
