An overflow crowd of more than 600 family, friends and St. Francis Prep Alumni turned out in support of the Hamlin's (Lisa '87, Marc '84, and Dana '86) for a special benefit on Sunday, November 23rd at Leonard's of Great Neck.

The event was held for Lisa's son, Aiden Binkley, to help his family keep up with mounting medical bills and other costs associated with his illness.  Aidan, who was diagnosed in July with a rare cancer called rhabdomayosarcoma, is undergoing 60 weeks of chemotherapy to treat a lemon-sized tumor, which has spread from his pelvis to his lungs.

The Hamlin's have asked us to convey their family's profound gratitude to all of the Prep alumni who have lent their loving support through their prayers, contributions and presence at Sunday's event.

Aiden's uncle, Marc Hamilin '84, stated, “My sisters and I heard from 4-5 of our classmates every day since we announced the event. They all wanted to know how they could help and assured us that Aiden was in their prayers.”

Aiden's mom, Lisa '87, added, “Your prayers, kind words and support are so important to our family. We have all been touched by angels in our lives, and thank you all for being Aiden's angels.”

Prep's Principal, Bro. Leonard Conway, O.S.F. said, “It makes me proud to see how St. Francis Prep alumni respond so compassionately and generously in times of need.” He added, “The prayers of the Prep community and the Franciscan Brothers are with Aiden and the entire Hamilin Family.”
