Shannan Ferry '10: A Thriving Young Journalist

Shannan Ferry (SFP Class of 2010) is a senior at Hofstra  University, expecting to graduate with a B.A in Broadcast Journalism in May 2014.  She is the currently the Station Manager at WRHU-FM and a College Reporter for Fox News Channel.  Just recently she published a story, "What You Say Online Could Hurt Your College Applications" , which featured several interviews with SFP students and staff!   

Shannan has distinguished herself as a talented journalist earning numerous awards and honors:

In addition to her duties as station manager, Shannan is also the Chief Political Correspondent at Hofstra Today. Last year, Shannan reported from the 2012 Republican National Convention for WRHU interviewing politicians, filing audio reports, and contributing to live coverage. She also reported at the 2012 Presidential Debate for Debate TV and filed on-camera reports and interviews for Hofstra University’s website.  In 2012, Shannan interned at NY1 News in the Local Edition and went out in the field with reporters and aided in story production. Shannan also works for the Long Island Ducks as a field-host during the spring and summer!
