Mary Ann Spicijaric, SFP Class of 1984, has been appointed Principal of Fontbonne Hall Academy effective August 1, 2013. Mary Ann was part of the Prep's Science Department for 25 years, serving as Chairperson from 2004 until 2013. Under her leadership, the department grew to offer a three year sequence of Advanced Placement courses that included AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, and AP Environmental Science, a unique ninth grade curriculum called Advanced Physical Science that prepared students for the rigors of higher level Chemistry and Physics, and the implementation of a nationally recognized Science Research Program that earned St. Francis Prep the distinction of being the only Catholic school in the country to have students named as semifinalists in the prestigious Intel Science Talent Search competition in 12 of the past 15 years. Mary Ann will now have the opportunity to lead Fontbonne Hall Academy, an all-girl school located in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn that has been dedicated to women's leadership since 1937.

If any alumni wish to contact Mary Ann, she can be reached at mspicijaric1014@gmail.com and  spicijariic@fontbonne.org.
