Dear Friends,

The St. Francis Prep Alumni Board will be hosting the 21st Annual Golf Classic on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Cherry Valley Club in Garden City, N.Y. Once again, it is with great pleasure that we cordially invite all of our alumni, parents, and friends to this year’s event where we will honor two very special individuals: Jack Cahill ‘67 and Ted Jahn H’09

We will also be honoring Brother Robert Kent for winning his 600th career win against Holy Cross on April 14. Brother Robert has been the Varsity Baseball Coach at the Prep for the past 32 years. Please join us in celebrating this wonderful achievement by attending the Golf Classic. If you cannot attend the event or dinner, perhaps you might consider paying tribute to Brother Robert in the Event Program Journal.

The Cherry Valley Course is extremely well-maintained and will be open only to St. Francis Prep throughout the day. As always, a full barbeque-style luncheon will precede the 1:00 pm tee-off.

After playing one of Long Island’s premier courses, all golfers and guests will enjoy an outstanding cocktail hour complete with ice carvings and shrimp bar. Following the cocktail hour, a wonderful full-buffet dinner, golf awards ceremony and special tributes to our two honorees will round out the evening.

Registration will be on a first-come, first-reserved basis, so please register early as we anticipate an overflow crowd. Since the net proceeds benefit the school, sponsorships from those participating and from those who may be unable to play or attend the dinner are crucial for our success. If you have any questions, please call the Office of Development at (718) 423-8810, ext. 268 or 269.

Thank you again for your support!

Sincerely,

The SFP Golf Classic Committee:
John S. Pereira ‘62, Gerry Scales ‘76,
Michael Mongelli ‘79, Wally Bishop ‘80,
