Dear Florida Graduates and Friends of the Prep,
Greetings and best wishes and a Happy New Year from your Alma Mater! On Saturday, March 2, 2013, beginning at 6:30 p.m., we will celebrate our 20th Annual St. Francis Prep Florida Reunion. This year we will be making a return trip to the East Coast of Florida.
So it is with great pleasure that I invite you and a guest to this year’s reunion on behalf of our gracious and very generous host, Peter Callahan ’59. Because the event at Peter’s home has become so popular, the sheer numbers have dictated that we change the venue to The Fox Club in Palm City (which is Peter’s own Club—see the attached directions) and he will be our host there. Therefore, since we will be using the "first-come, first-served” format, if you are interested in attending the reunion, I am asking you to call me ASAP at 718-423-8810 ext. 230, or call Nancy DeStefano at ext. 259.
We have also secured a limited number of tickets (35) for the Mets vs. Tigers game to be played the day before (Friday, March 1th) at 1:00 PM at Mets Spring Training Complex, 525 NW Peacock Blvd in Port St. Lucie. You will also need to call us for these tickets (priced at $20 each--first-come, first-served) and you can either use a credit card when you call or send a check after you have ordered. After the Met game on Friday, Bill Dunn and his wife Joanne have cordially invited us to a barbeque at their home in Port St. Lucie. (See attached directions.)
On Saturday, March 2nd, Father Bill Sweeney, the Prep Chaplain, will celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, at 5:45 PM at The Fox Club—prior to the start of our 6:30 reception there. So please join us if you want to fulfill your Sunday obligation.
We have had a good representation of alumni from Butler Street, North 6th Street, and Fresh Meadows, attending our Florida Reunion over the past nineteen years, so we hope to see you this year. You may find a classmate you didn’t know moved to the Sunshine State!
Wishing God’s blessing on you and your family, and hoping to see you March 1st or 2nd!
Brother Robert Kent, O.S.F.
P.S. For those who may be looking for a hotel in the area, we are attaching some suggestions and also directions to Bill Dunn’s home in Port St. Lucie, and The Fox Club in Palm City.
