This is the permanent fund whose income provides scholarships for deserving students and sponsorships for needy students each year. Your gift would be restricted to this general endowment fund OR to the particular named scholarship fund (see the list below) that falls under the "umbrella" of the general endowment. The Franciscan Brothers Clifford, Conway and Smith Fund » Donate Online
Established through the generosity of SFP trustee, Michael Henning ’57, this fund honors and recognizes the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn for the tremendous influence they had on Mike’s life, most notably the late Brother Ralph Clifford, the Prep’s long-time treasurer; the late Brother Robert Smith, long-standing trustee and fellow SFP Hall of Famer; and Brother Leonard Conway, who has just become the Prep’s first-ever President .

The George Dillman '00 Memorial Scholarship » Donate Online
George Dillman ‘00, an employee of Con Edison, died in an explosion as he was carrying out routine electrical maintenance work in a manhole in 2008. He was 26 years old. His colleagues at Con Ed, along with Dillman family members and friends organized a golf outing in his memory. Each year, the proceeds of the golf outing as well as other donations received throughout the year are directed into the building of the George Dillman ‘00 Memorial Scholarship Fund at St. Francis Prep.

The Martin Doherty '76 Memorial Scholarship Fund » Donate Online
This fund was established by Michael Doherty ’77 in memory of his brother, Marty, who was tragically killed in 1980. Marty played football and rugby as a student at Prep and graduated in 1976. His brother, Michael, who lives in Texas, together with other family members, classmates and friends, continue to honor Marty’s memory through this scholarship fund.

This fund was established in memory of one of the Prep’s 9-11 heroes, Thomas R. Kelly FDNY, Class of 1980, who lived in Riverhead at the time of the attacks on the World Trade Center. The scholarship fund provides a financial award each year to a deserving Prep student.

As baseball coach for over 40 years, Br. Rob’s accomplishments cannot be measured only in the number of championships he’s won. Under Br. Rob’s guidance and leadership hundreds of young men have learned about baseball, and most importantly, about life. Br. Rob continues to lead the baseball program, reminding his players that working hard and being responsible are attributes they will take with them forever. For the past 15 years, Brother Rob has also served as our Alumni Director.

The Albert M. Robb Fine Arts Scholarship Fund » Donate Online
This fund was established in October 2009 through a bequest-by-will left by the late J.B. Robb who stated in article seven that, "The (Franciscan) Brothers are to establish a Fine Arts Scholarship, the income from which is to be given annually to a graduating high school senior (to assist with his/her final year tuition) whose talents lie in the specific areas of the (Arts). The scholarship is to be called ‘The Albert Maxwell Robb Fine Arts Scholarship’ (in honor of the donor’s brother).”

The Thomas Sheehan ’55 Memorial Scholarship Fund » Donate Online
Tom was a track star at the Prep in the 1950’s and this fund was started by his classmates as a memorial to this fine man. The fund is managed by investment advisor and Tom’s 1955 classmate at Prep, Jack Ward, and it provides for full or partial scholarships for deserving two-sport student athletes at Prep each year.

This permanent fund will build over time through various fundraising activities, including the Annual Homecoming Golf Outing, and it will honor Tim’s memory by enabling deserving Prep students to receive financial awards that will ease the burden of tuition payments for their families. These awards have been granted in Tim’s name each year since 2006.

A new overnight retreat has been developed for juniors. The Journeys retreat takes place in Garrison, NY at the beautiful Capuchin Youth and Family Ministries retreat center. This weekend retreat cost $150.00 per person. Consider sponsoring a student scholarship to allow juniors this spiritual experience.

Presentation Soup Kitchen » Donate Online
Almost every Thursday, a team of six students and an SFP chaperone help prepare and serve meals to 100-150 people at the soup kitchen held at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Jamaica, Queens. The simple meal provides economically poor neighbors free food and some sense of community when finances are tight. Each semester, SFP sponsors a “special dinner” as a treat for the guests. A $500.00 donation can pay for food and dessert items for all the guests.
